Zavod
K6/4 is a non-profit cultural institution from
Ljubljana, Slovenia, that produces, organizes
and promotes creativity of the young and daring.
It operates in the field of live urban culture
by stimulating the development of non-commercial,
unconventional, avantgarde forms and contents
of creative energy. It explores emerging artistic
expressions and presents international art trends.
Zavod
K6/4 was established in 2000 as a result of
re-structuring of the Student Organisation of
the University of Ljubljana which is also one
of its founders (the other is the Union of Student
Clubs of Slovenia). It is hosted in the building
of the Student Organisation of the University
of Ljubljana, using also its other infrastructure
for different projects and programs, most of
which were in the years before the establishment
of Zavod K6/4 already run by its founder/host.
Rich experience is therefore based on many years
of fruitful operation in the field of contemporary
arts and culture that go back much further than
the establishment of Zavod K6/4.
The
program scheme of Zavod K6/4 is based on the
ambition to become the central Slovene platform
of live, emerging and thought-provoking culture.
Thus, Zavod K6/4 is developing numerous programs
and projects, within which young creators can
efficiently express their creative energy, sharpen
it with educational activities and assess it
with the help of the audience.
The
main projects and programs implemented by Zavod
K6/4 are:

Kapelica
Gallery
Kapelica Gallery is one of the central scenes
of contemporary art research in Slovenia. It
enables people from different artistic environments
to experiment with new paradigms and borders
in contemporary art. The gallery program is
based on presentation of art production that
is scarce or completely absent in other Slovene
galleries. The point of interest are not paintings,
but space installations and ambiences; not theatre,
dance or concerts, but performances and artistic
actions; not one-way lectures, but artistic
presentations with educational potential.

Club
K4
Club K4 has for over a decade been known as
the central scene of progressive music culture
of the young in Slovenia. It is an active generator
of music trends and not only their passive stage.
It spots new, unconventional musical talents
in Slovenia, provides them the opportunity to
develop, and also presents new musical tendencies
from abroad.

Cyberpipe
Cyberpipe is the central scene of cyber culture
in Slovenia. It offers educational programs
connected with new media, stimulates and presents
technology-supported art projects, and provides
a platform for operation and development of
civil movements using tecnology as means of
social action.
Break
2.2 Festival
Break 2.2 Festival (previously known as Break
21 Festival) is an international art festival
that presents young emerging artists with orientation
towards urban, technologically supported arts
and intermedia artistic practices that are perceived
as current avantgarde.
